OCTA Webinar: Horizon Europe Missions – focus on Climate and Oceans

As part of its series on EU funding opportunities for the OCTs, OCTA organised a webinar on Horizon Europe Missions, a novelty of the research and innovation EU programme. The webinar took place on the 22 June 2021, 21-22h30 (Brussels time). Horizon Europe is centrally managed by the European Commission, with the National Contact Points to spread information and support candidates.

The webinar was organised in collaboration with the European Commission, who presented the new Horizon Europe Missions, one of the main novelties introduced by the European Commission in Horizon Europe for 2021-2027. The motivation for this new approach was to increase the impact of public investments in research and innovation activities, as well as to liaise better with citizens and raise the visibility of science, research and innovation. Missions will indicate a clear direction and objectives and be targeted, measurable, time-bound and have a clear budget frame.

Five missions areas have been identified:

In this webinar organised for the OCTs, the focus is on the Adaptation to climate change” and “Restore our oceans and waters by 2030“.
