Donkey Sanctuary Aruba

Fundacion Salba nos Burico (the Donkey Sanctuary) is a non-profit organization that attends to mistreated, neglected, sick or roaming donkeys. Founded on the 14th April 1997, the organization started out with 10 donkeys, and now has more than 120 donkeys in care. The organization aims to protect and preserve the donkeys as a National Cultural Heritage of Aruba.

The Organization works with a team of volunteers that execute the daily activities at the Sanctuary. The organization is also a partner to several international organizations and often hosts volunteers from all over the EU and the UK. The organization relies partly on donations from local and international organizations, donations from its ‘Friends of the Aruban Donkey’ program and its adoption program, and donations from sponsors.
