On 8 February last, the Evaluation Committee of The Collection – Archipel . eu  selected the 15 winning projects of the first edition of this call, including the project “Antiyano progresivo: Experimentation and nonconformity in Music of the ABC and SSS Islands 1969-1992” by De Wind Imaging, Film & Photography in Curaçao, a documentation and transmission project that highlights the music heritage and history of the ABC and SSS islands, particularly through the rock of Curaçao and the jazz-funk of Aruba.

The Collection – Archipel. eu Special Edition aims to support the dissemination of exhibitions, performances, artistic proposals that can be easily disseminated, in order to promote the cultures of the Outermost Regions and of the Overseas Countries and Territories, within those territories as well as in continental Europe. This call aims, on the one hand, to identify the cultural offers that can be proposed for dissemination and, on the other hand, to financially support this dissemination.

41 projects were submitted in the framework of the first edition of this call.  The Evaluation Committee, composed of international experts, representatives of the Archipel . eu Associated Partners, and members of the Archipel . eu Consortium (the Institut français, as lead partner; OCTA; and the Agency for the Promotion of Atlantic Cultures – APCA), highlighted the quality and the maturity of the projects, as well as their great cultural and geographical diversity. They also underlined the artistically innovative approach of the projects as well as their way to address global fundamental issues (inequalities, racism, immigration, etc.).

The total amount dedicated to The Collection – Archipel. eu Special Edition is 150,000€, distributed among the 15 winning projects.
