Check out the results of The Archipel . eu Fund for the Safeguarding and the Promotion of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of the OCTs and the ORS

On Wednesday 16 March, the Evaluation Committee of the Archipel. eu Fund for the Safeguarding and the Promotion of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Outermost Regions of the EU (OR) and  the Overseas Countries and Territories (OCTs) selected the 18 winning projects. OCTA is pleased to announce that among the 18 selected projects, 9 are from the OCTs, with projects from Bonaire, Curaçao, French Polynesia, New Caledonia, Saint Pierre et Miquelon and Wallis & Futuna.

The Fund for the Safeguarding and the Promotion of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of ORs and the OCTs aims at safeguarding and promoting intangible cultural heritage, popular arts and practices, and ancestral cultures, in line with the definition of intangible cultural heritage as stipulated in the 2003 UNESCO Convention.

76 eligible projects were submitted in the framework of the first edition of this call.  The Evaluation Committee, composed of international experts, representatives of the Archipel. eu Associated Partners, and members of the Archipel . eu Consortium (the Institut français, as lead partner; OCTA; and the Agency for the Promotion of Atlantic Cultures – APCA), highlighted the great diversity of the projects, both in terms of content and geographical representation.

The total amount dedicated to the Fund is 270,000€, distributed among the 18 winning projects.
