University of French Polynesia

The University of French Polynesia – UPF (Université de la Polynésie française) is a multidisciplinary university located in Puna’auia.

It was created in 1987 under the name French University of the Pacific, in reference to the unique entity it then constituted with New Caledonia. In 1999 the university became independent.

The university currently has over 3100 students among the departments of:

• Law, economics, management (DEG)
• Letters, languages and human sciences (LLSH)
• Science, technology and health (STS)
• Continuing education service,
• Teaching and education (ESPE),
• Confucius Institute.
