Te Ora Naho - Fédération des Associations de Protection de l’Environnement

The Federation of Environmental Protection Associations (FAPE), from its Tahitian name Te Ora Naho, gathers under its banner more than 40 associations and organisations whose purpose is to protect, defend and promote the natural heritage of the islands of French Polynesia and to fight against its degradation and pollution of any kind.

Since 1989, Te Ora Naho has had 3 main missions:

  • To provide its member associations with a framework that allows them to meet, exchange ideas, request technical assistance, and strengthen their skills through appropriate training.
  • To be the privileged interlocutor of the institutions, the government and the local administrative bodies for questions relating to the environment.
  • To actively contribute to the ecological transition by proposing each year programmes aimed at the general public in order to respond to environmental issues deemed to be priorities for French Polynesia
