Education

Lycée Agricole d’Opunohu

Established on the Opunohu site since the early 1970s, the Opunohu Agricultural High School offers training from the baccalaureate level to the higher technician certificate level. The 220 pupils and students of the high school come from all the Polynesian archipelagos and metropolitan areas. Half of the students are boarders.

In accordance with the country’s agricultural policy, the courses prepare them for living professions (environment, planning, agronomy, ecology), for professions in the agricultural and agro-food world and for sales professions. The pupils have on the site of the establishment a real agricultural exploitation (production, transformation, sale) as a teaching aid . At the end of their schooling, sanctioned by a State diploma, the pupils engage in working life, take competitive examinations (public functions) or pursue higher studies in Polynesia or in metropolitan France.
