Biodiversity conservation and restoration
The Rima’Ura Association is an association under the 1901 law with the objective of preserving the natural habitat of native birds of Rimatara: the ‘Ura (Lorikeet, Vini kuhlii ) and Oroma’o (Rouserolle de Rimatara, Acrocephalus rimatarae ). The association was founded in 2014 thanks to the Polynesian Ornithological Society (SOP Manu). The association is made up of around 400 adherents mainly from the island of Rimatara (population of around 900 in 2021).
